The Edith Skirt pays tribute to "La Môme", who left a lasting mark on the history of French chanson and continues to captivate us today. Édith Piaf grew up in poverty, living her passion at any cost, with no regrets, and always seeing life through rose-tinted glasses!
This is a simple or asymmetrical wrap skirt, which crosses over and fastens at the left front with a knot or a button. The left panel is attached to the inside of the right front with a buttonhole. The Edith skirt features a simple waistband that accentuates the waist. It is designed with a lining, and the patch pockets are optional, allowing you to play with the asymmetry of the design if you choose to add just one.
The skirt has two different front pieces, offering multiple options:
- A plain front for a classic wrap skirt
- An asymmetrical right front that overlaps the left front for the shorter version
- Two asymmetrical fronts to reveal the legs in the longer version
If you sew it in a fabric with some structure, you can have fun topstitching the seams to add more character and a denim skirt vibe!
This is a skirt that will stand the test of time thanks to its adjustable fastening system. Over time, it’s entirely possible to move the outer and inner buttons and adjust the external knot tighter or looser. You can even choose to add two buttons on the outside and inside to change the fit of the skirt throughout the day.
No overlocker required.
